OURTEL’s beloved mascot Pen the Penguin took Sydney by storm when he made a surprise appearance at the F&P Fundraising Forum 2019. The forum was held at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth this 21 to 23 August and Pen couldn’t have been more excited to attend.
Accompanied by his devoted handlers and experienced OURTEL tele agents Katelyn Webb and Anthony Kirton, Pen was pleased to meet and greet some of his heroes in the fundraising industry.
The forum focused on direct marketing and individual giving, and Pen was front and centre at important keynote addresses. He listened with great interest as the industry’s thought leaders shared ideas on key themes including donor acquisition, donor retention, innovation and integrated campaigns.
But all work and no play makes Pen a dull aquatic bird. So Pen, Katelyn and Anthony took some time out to get a bird’s eye view of the harbour city from high above the hustle and bustle at Sydney Tower.
As a flightless bird, Pen admits to being a little scared of heights. But he was happy he faced his fears and looks forward to visiting Australia’s many other landmarks on future OURTEL trips.
Pen kindly gave us permission to share his photos from his trip to Sydney…
